When it’s time for baby to play, some parents can either get too involved or too out of touch. Here are some things to remember to make your baby’s playtime all worthwhile.
- Make sure that your baby has already eaten and has had enough rest before you allow him to play.
- Start with stimulating activities before you move on to more relaxed ones.
- Let your baby figure things out by himself. In case he gets frustrated or gives up on what he is doing, then that’s the only time you ca n interfere. This way, you are letting the baby develop his problem solving skills. This also goes when he is just learning to walk. Do not come hurrying about just because he cannot stand himself up.
- Do not force your baby to play. Let them develop their own play habits and schedules.
- Get down on the floor with them. This is your chance to form a bond with your baby. Keep in mind also that your baby would love it if he or she has your attention.
- Try showing your baby books with lots of pictures. Point to these pictures and name them. Let your baby do the page-turning.
Keep in mind that playtime is your baby’s chance to develop his social, intellectual and problem-solving skills. Educational toys such as the Baby Einstein Playtime Wagon of Simply Unique Baby Gifts can help stimulate your child’s brain.
